REPLACING AN OLD AIR CONDITIONER OR HEAT PUMP?

Be sure to change the old evaporator coil (inside unit)!!!! WHY? An old evaporator coil used with a new condenser can have the following deficiencies:

• A 10%-15% lower efficiency than the listed efficiency;
• A 5%-10% lower capacity than the listed BTU rating;
• A high compression ratio, which is one of the major causes of compressor failures;
• With the old evaporator coil being designed for higher operating pressures than the new condenser, the compressor windings may overheat.
